The most powerful drummer’s tool unfortunately is not a shimmering look or shiny, most expensive, best brands’ drums. And not even a sophisticated playing technique or speed. What makes drummer cool is a FIRM TIMING.

Timing is being developed just like playing technique. It’s an inner clock that has to be discovered, cultivated and used by every drummer. If you bring up a firm timing your playing will turn to breathing, your grooves will gain sense of depth, you’ll feel more secure every time you sit behind drums. Finally other musicians will enjoy comfort while playing with you. As a consequence you will get more and more calls for gigs.

Even the worst drum set or most awfully playing band going to sound much better if drummer has a firm timing.

It’s worth to pursue !!!

A very useful tool for any musician in modern world of music is to know music notation and to be able to read sheet music (sight reading). It is true there are loads of musicians who can’t sight read. But very often in modern music industry you will face the bundles of music sheets. Furthermore you’ll be required to perform the song perfectly by the second or third try. WOW!!!

What about performing with bands where no one will ever provide you with sheets of repertoire? You will need to write down the music yourself instead. And now this is the space where music and drum notation knowledge will come in handy.

And now it’s a fun part!
